Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is about 2 hours away. It is famous for its castle, the Scottish Parliament, Princes Street and its gardens and, in August, the International Festival.

Ayrshire

Ayrshire is in south west Scotland and lies on the sea (the Firth of Clyde). Ayr is the main town and nearby Alloway is the birth place of our national poet Robert Burns.

brigodoon.jpg This is the famous bridge, Brig o’ Doon, which features in his poem “Tam o’ Shanter”.

The dorms have bunk beds. You don’t need to bring bedding but do bring towels, soap and shampoo etc. Showers are shared.
