Ayrshire
Ayrshire is in south west Scotland and lies on the sea (the Firth of Clyde). Ayr is the main town and nearby Alloway is the birth place of our national poet Robert Burns.
This is his birth place, Burns’ Cottage.
This is the famous bridge, Brig o’ Doon, which features in his poem “Tam o’ Shanter”.
Inland there is gentle rolling countryside with many farms with sheep or cows.
The pretty fishing village of Dunure lies between Culzean and Ayr.
