Hiya,
I play the bagpipes but unfortunately i dont think i can take them because if i put them on the plane in the case i have now then they could break. Sorry about that.

Hey Cameron. that would have been great to take bagpipes. Wonder where we could borrrow a stronger case!

I love the sax! Will try to find out about hand luggage with Easy Jet. I’m not entirely clear what it is for. Annette has asked and I know the workshop activities involve music and art. I’ll try and winkle some more out of her!

Easyjet website was actually quite helpful if not actually very encouraging.
Musical instruments
Musical instruments will only be permitted to be carried in the cabin and placed into the overhead locker if space is available and strictly subject to the Captain’s discretion. The instrument including its carry case must not exceed the dimensions 30 x 117 x 38cms. Instruments which fit into this category include violin, viola, piccolo, flute, clarinet, bugle and trumpet.
Any instrument which exceeds the dimensions 30 x 117 x 38cms must be checked in as checked-baggage. The maximum weight for any single piece of baggage is 32 kgs (which will be deducted from the passenger total of 50kg).

erm…ok i shall check the size and tell you tomorrow. but does that mean that if it is small enough to bring into the plane with me, does it then count as my hand luggage??
also, i hope to go to the meeting tomorrow but will be a bit late!! (i have a piano lesson, that i couldn’t cancel, until 7.15) but i will get there as soon as i can!
so don’t talk too quickly kay.
sorry about that. see you tomorrow, lynsay

It would count as hand luggage. I think we would need to book it into the hold if you were happy with that but it would be part of your 20kg allowance. Not quite sure where the figure of 50 kg comes in.
Anway can discuss tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know you will be late!
