Stuff to take to Saxony

Hope your first day back at school was not too painful!

I mentioned the possibility of taking musical intruments which we are looking into.

Annette has also asked if we could bring some haggis!!!!! She must have enjoyed our mini Burns supper at the Dophin House. I don’t think you can eat haggis by itself. You can’t buy turnips in Germany. I know, I have tried and ended up buying celeriac. (Look out for it in the supermarket – it does look like a turnip but it is celery flavoured!!) What do you think. Has anyone tried to take haggis with them abroad before?

We should also think of taking some presents for our new friends and for the school visit. Some Scottish sweets or shortbread or postcards might be suitable. We can talk about that on Tuesday night at the parents’ meeting.

What does haggis come in – as in packaging?! My mum took tinned chopped ham on a plane to Ireland for my Uncle! That was ok, but you have to have it in your suitcase!

Another present you can take over to Saxony is………………… ME! That would be a great present! hahaha! Nur Spass! ;)

When we were in Marburg, Lynsay took rock (as in sweetie rock…) and the children loved them… don’t know how much they are!

    Katy :)

I got some Grants tinned haggis in Morrisons in Troon yesterday. Think will forget about taking turnip!
